Welcome to the Black Horse Hotel, a cosy 17th-century coaching inn right in the heart of Grassington.

Full of charm and character, our historic inn is just a stone’s throw from the village square. From its quirky, uneven floors to its warm, inviting spaces, the Black Horse is a place where you can truly relax and feel at home.

Grassington itself is well known as the filming location for All Creatures Great and Small, doubling as the fictional town of Darrowby. Step outside our door and you’ll find yourself right in the middle of it all – a familiar setting for fans of the series and a truly special place to explore.

We have 15 comfortable en-suite bedrooms, many with beautiful views across the Yorkshire Dales – perfect for unwinding after a day of walking, cycling, or simply exploring the village and surrounding countryside.

Downstairs, you’ll find a friendly bar with a real fire, a relaxed restaurant serving freshly prepared dishes, and a warm welcome waiting for you at every turn. We’re also dog-friendly, so your four-legged companions are more than welcome to join you.
