Lovelytwo day break in Black Horse Grassington. Great staff really friendly and helpful . Food was really good andthe restaurant was warm and well laidout with tablesarranged to create a spacious atmosphere.

A lovely visit. The Black Horse is a gracious and friendly inn. We truly enjoyed our stay. Delicious breakfasts. Thoughtful welcoming gifts in our room - the robes were lovely. Would have appreciated a higher resolution graphic and more realistic advice regarding the parking possibilities - best bet is the parking lot at the national park a short walk away. I missed the advice to reserve spots for dinner so we unfortunately were unable to enjoy a delicious sounding dinner menu. Overall five stars! The trip was a gift for my partner and she loved it.

Room beautiful, food delicious and staff were all really pleasant. Enjoyed the pub quiz.But …… I understood that dogs were only allowed in the front of the restaurant but they were throughout the whole restaurant and I prefer to eat in a dog free environment..

Stayed at Black Horse many times in last few years.We repeat visits because of the high standards achieved and maintained, from quality of ales,food and accommodation. One of best Inns in the Dales for value for money and customer satisfaction. Will obviously be returning.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at the Black Horse Hotel. All the staff were very friendly. Plenty of choice for breakfast & the food was lovely. The treats in our room when we arrived were a greatsurprise. The room was comfortable & had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again. Grassington is a beautiful place to stay.

Fourth time staying with you,always great..But,this time stayed in room number 8,( room nice)the noise from the kitchen extraction fan ( coming on about 6.00 am) was terrible.I live in the countryside,so I am use to the quiet.

Lovely meal & stay. We knew parking wasn't possible but managed to get a spot in the town square. Staff was wonderful. We had breakfast & one evening meal we loved both. Our room was really nice but the bed was definitely too firm for us & noticed other reviews once we come back say the same.

The staff are great , very friendly and attentive, the place has a family feel to it, the room was very clean great view of the square and comfy furnishings, the complimentary nibbles and drinks where a nice surprise. The food was delicious and the fact you order your breakfast the night before ensures it is freshly cooked, best ever eggs Benedict. The band playing in the bar wasa real treat , the location is ideal as you’re right near the square . Will definitely be back , next time with our dog.

My daughter and I enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Black Horse. Good choice. The staff were delightful, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, the position,in the centre of the pretty village, was ideal.

The staff ate really helpful, the food was excellent, the rooms ate tidy and spotless, the shower was grear, the village is lovely....and the stairs,are steep.It's an old building, with some the challenges but much more loveliness.I totally recommend!Do book in the restaurant too, but leave room for breakfast!

We stayed in a small twin bedroom at the Black Horse. Everything was incredibly clean and the room was thoughtfully equipped for our comfort. There was even a bottle of water and homemade shortbread. We found staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. Would recommend to all.

We were there for hiking so really wanted an early start. Would have liked to have been breakfasted and away by 8.30 but not possible here ( or for that matter at the other pub am we stayed at in Yorkshire ). Maybe late breakfasts are a Yorkshire thing?

We used to celebrate winter birthdays at Grassington 40 years ago as a motorcyclegroup, and returned for a night to remember days of old. Lovely place, great staff, nice evening meal and breakfast. Only down side was noise outside of room both late and very early. However would recommend and will return again. G

A really enjoyable stay!Check in was great, Gemma was very helpful and entertaining. Helped us plan our evening, which pubs to go to, closing times etc.Great location, easy parking a few minutes away, in the centre close to shops and pubs and cafes, lovely walks.Bed was really comfortable, big shower, fluffy towels, homemade biscuits in the room which was a nice touch.We had our evening meal in the restaurant - really enjoyed it and a great baileys espresso martini.Breakfast was excellent. 11am checkout is nice and leisurely. Overall a great stay, good value for money and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

We have stayed in Grassington many times and this was our fourth consecutive stay at the Black Horse. The quality of service, the friendliness of staff and the standard of food is excellent and keeps us coming back. Plus, in our opinion a good place is distinguished from a great place by how is handles issues and this too is where the Black Horse excels. Highly recommended and we will return. Excellent location right in the heart of the village .Hotel is wonderful esp the outside seating area,bar area very cosy, food delicious ! The bedroom was lovely with everything you need and a great shower after all that walking!Only slight negative it’s a long time since I’ve viewed an 22inch tv .Breakfast is pre ordered and greatquality.

Prior to arrival we were advised about the various parking options in the village which was helpful. Upon arrival we were met by friendly helpful staff who explained everything re room, meal times etc.We ate and drank in the hotel throughout our stay ( albeit only 1 night ) and all staff were friendly and polite.

Food breakfast and dinner, lots of choices and delicious. We even had entertainment on the terrace on a beautifully sunny evening.Right in the middle of Grassington with loads to see and do close by.

First time visiting Grassington but certainly it will not be the last! Loved everything about our stay! Staff very welcome and friendly, room lovely, clean and comfortable just wish we could of stayed longer! Breakfast was delicious, the meal we had in the restaurant was the best steak I have tasted! However the chips were a little under cooked, Irish coffee was a let down too, but this will definitely not put us of returning. Thank you to you and all your lovely hard working staff for a lovely warm welcome.

Our stay at the Black Horse was sadly mired by a diabolical English weather so can't be blamed on this really nice hotel.The staff are really friendly, polite and most helpful, the food was 1st class.So yes a great place to spend ones time in the Dales.Thank you to you all.

Room comfortable. Food good. Service impeccable. Stairs are a bit narrow for lugging your cases up, but this must be expected in a quaint old inn.

Stayed for 4 nights in May (Room 15). Hotel in terrific location, staff very friendly and helpful, room very comfortable with nice 'complimentary' extras and a push-button shower (great idea). We ate twice at the hotel, once as a duo, the other as part of a group and the food and service were excellent on both occasions. Pre-ordering breakfast was unusual (and the 1 hour service time surprising), but resulted in a very organised experience. 100% recommendation from us and we truly hope to return. Thanks to all at The Black Horse.

Room was basic but clean. Comfortable bed and quiet. Evening meal was nice in restaurant but there was 3 things on menu that Hotel had run out of which wasn’t very good because obviously menu was limited

The Blackhorse Hotel is well located, in the middle of town. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner are traditional pub fare, but are well cooked and tasty. It's a busy village pub, and staff are servicing staying guests as well as attending to pub duties, which makes service slightly variable sometimes.

We booked this lovely hotel as partner as never been around this part of the country before. All I can say is wow and amazing the staff from start to finish could not do enough to help you and would go out there way to find something out for you . The room was spotless just right and everything you needed the food was amazing I am definitely going to book this place again

Hotel is quaint and has character set just off the cobbled market square. Staff are very friendly and helpful food in the restaurant is very good and they catered for Coeliac diet with good choices. Our Cockerpoo was also made very welcome even supplying him with a towel on a very wet day.

We enjoyed a wonderful three day stay at The Black Horse Hotel in the lovely little town of Grassington.We enjoyed a bountiful breakfast daily and several delicious evening meals at the hotel’s Morral Restaurant.The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the pub added a lively touch with great drinks and live entertainment.Our room was clean and comfortable and we loved the added touch of homemade lemon & raspberry biscuits.For anyone headed to ramble about the lovely countryside in the Yorkshire Dales, this little gem of a hotel is well worth a visit.

We had a lovely weekend here, celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary and were lucky to be blessed with excellent weather.The hotel is in a great location, right in the centre of Grassington. It looks welcoming both inside and out. We had a lovely room and the hotel has a really nice bar and restaurant with a good choice of beers and excellent food. Some outside seating in the sun too, which we enjoyed.There was live music in the bar Friday and Saturday night, with two excellent acts, which was a real bonus.A special mention to all the staff, who are a credit to the hotel. Everyone was consistently friendly, happy and helpful. Thanks for a fantastic weekend.

Visited Yorkshire Dales staying at this lovely hotel in Grassington, the accommodation was very good and the food was excellent and had plenty of variety to cater for all tastes. The staff were both helpful and friendly will certainly consider this again should we be in Yorkshire dales.

Absolutely lovely stay here. It’s about the sixth time we have stayed as the hotel has great staff, great rooms, great food, great location, what more could you want! No doubt will return again.

We have stayed at the black horse now for a second time and it never disappoints. Everything is first class from the service to the cleanliness. The food is outstanding. I would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back soon. Also they treated my border terrier Ted like a king:)

Booked this ad hoc few days before as needed anight awayand the black horse did not disappoint!!!Beautiful location pub amazingrum and facilities spot on and the staff throughout such lovely caring people.We had our old lab Sammi with us who was struggling and the staff couldn’t do enough to help us with her .We had lunch outside as beautiful weather and area lovelya bar meal in the bar at nighta comfortable sleep all three of us Sammi too and a fabulous home cooked full English in the morning in the stunning restaurant before we left .All in all a wonderful stay our first but won’t be the last .Thank you all xxxxx

Our room was very nice.Next time I will ask for a slip mat in the bath/shower..The staff are great, some new faces, all very pleasant..Breakfast and dinner were very nice, eggs were perfect.The chicken Francese was superb!!As mentioned to the staff, the new outside patio is lovely, we are pleased that an indicator on the step is to be fitted shortly, to prevent falls..perhaps higher hand rails on the main steps would also be beneficial..A terrific visit.See you later this year!!

Lovely bar and restaurant in an excellent location. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and very clean.The full English breakfast was very good, although service was very slow on the Saturday morning. Sunday was spot on.We ate in the restaurant Friday night and Saturday night and couldn't fault our food or the service.My only gripe was that themirror in the bathroom was far too low! Oh, and the radiator made a noise (which I failed to mention to the hotel staff), when it came on and woke us up in the night. Sounded like it could do with bleeding.Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay again.

My lifelong friends and I gathered for a one night stay at the Black Horse. On arrival, everything about our stay was explained by reception. The twin rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Our meal in the restaurant was superb, as was the very attentive waitress. All in all, a great stay! Thank you.

When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly, informative receptionist. Our room was lovely, warm, cosy and spotlessly clean! The beds were really comfy with lovely soft bedding and comfortable pillows.We ate in the restaurant and found the food and service really good.We even joined in with the pub quiz.Breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day!I took my daughter for a little birthday treat and we both loved it and will definitely be back soon! 😊

We stayed here over the Easter weekend and absolutely enjoyed it. The hotel is really cosy and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast was delicious and we really loved the pub downstairs. Location wise it’s in the centre of the village and all main attractions are very accessible.

We’ve visited the Black Horse many times for food and drinks, but this was our first time staying. Our room was spacious, comfortable and had plenty of storage. The place itself is really cosy and welcoming, with friendly staff and lovely food. We’d happily stay again.

Warm and friendly hotel situated in the heart of Grassington. Stayed for 2 nights b & b and also ate in the restaurant which was lovely. Would definitely recommend it as a base for walkers.There’s no parking at the hotel but there’s a public car park 5 minutes walk away where you can park for £8 for 48 hrs .Dogs were welcome which we didn’t know so might bring ours next time !

The Black Horse Hotel was the perfect place to stay for a weekend break in Grassington. There was nothing we could fault! The room was clean, well-equipped and cosy. The breakfast was superb. We ate there in the evening, again it was high quality. The choice of beer was good. All in all, a fabulous stay - we will be back!

We've stayed at The Black Horse several times now. There is always a warm welcome from attentive staff for whom nothing seems to be too much trouble.The food this time was exceptional. Its always been great but the menu on this occasion was the best I've seen for my personal taste with lovely seafood options & spicier Asian influenced food.We were visiting with my elderly parents & their puppy. The menu was great for my parents too with some more traditional options.Poppy the puppy was made welcome in the bar & one section of the restaurant as well as in the room we booked.It was great to have dog towels provided as the weather was very wet and the ones we took were soon filthy.We'll definitely be back!

First time staying at the hotel and we've had a great time. Room was clean and tidy and well presented. Bed very comfortable and a nice on suite bathroom. Really nice to be able pop down to the bar and restaurant in the evening and a good range of real ales (and other drinks) and a very nice restaurant with a varied menu. The meals we chose were well presented and very tasty.We took our dog with us and it's great to know that well behaved dogs can stay and are welcome in the bar and a section of the restaurant too.So all in all a very enjoyable stay and we'll be back I'm sure.

Stayed here on a few occasions, clean ,comfortable bedrooms. The meals are excellent with a good selection to choose from off the menu , with plethora of beers, wines and spirits.All the staff are always pleasant and efficient. A lovely pub, great food, rooms clean and roomy.Quiz night on Weds was a good laugh, gets quite busy Great location just off the square.No parking nearby on this occasion as we were lucky enough to be here when they were filming All Creatures Great and Small, but otherwise the parking is about 200 m away. Alternative parking is at the visitors centre which is £6.50 for 24hrs or £8 for 48 hrs.I would definitely recommend.

Had a pleasant stay at the Black Horse. Food was cooked to perfection. Wasn't sure about prebooked breakfast but it meant there was no long waits especially when the breakfast room was full. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel with excellent seevice and food. The room we had was comfy though a bit cold at night, the bathroom door had to be left open so the heat from the radiator could come through. This didn't stop us enjoying our stay and are already planning our next visit 10/10.

The staff were extremely friendly.There was a great atmosphere in the pub with all the local residents willing to include us.One downside was the bathroom in No 5 was small and narrow.But definitely be returning.

Just spent two days in the North Yorkshire village of Grassington, one of our favourite places in the Dales. The Black Horse Hotel provides the perfect accommodation for a short break, especially if you take advantage of their winter break offer. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, offering a good selection of locally sourced produce. We had dinner in the restaurant and again the food and service was first class. It had a distinct ambience. Given it was mid-week, it was very pleasing to see a good number of customers in the pub during the evening. This was probably down to the entertainment on offer. The area around Grassington has plenty of walks for all abilities and we were fortunate with the weather. I would recommend the Black Horse Hotel for the perfect getaway to the country.

We have stayed at the black horse every year for the last three years and we are never disappointed the staff are excellent the rooms are spotless and the breakfast is beautiful can't recommend the black horse enough

Although we have been to Grassington several times we have not stayed at the Black Horse until Tuesday. It might have been our first stay but it will not be the last. Overall an excellent stay. Staff very friendly and helpful, restaurant food and breakfast delicious. Room spotless. Only downside was a continuous deep humming noise in our bedroom until about 10pm which I think came from the kitchen which I believe was below our room (no 10)

After a train journey from Nottingham and with Storm Debi at its height, I was given the most genuine of Yorkshire welcomes.This warm reception continued throughout my stay. I had a table booked for dinner each evening in the spacious restaurant, and the food was delicious.My quiet, good-sized single room had a comfortable 4' (small double) bed and a very ample, modern en-suite shower-room.Breakfast service was super-efficient, with a wide choice of food freshly cooked as per order by 8pm the night before, as well as continental pastries, home-made jams and tea or cups of coffee and jugs of milk served to you at the table.This was my second visit here on a 50% discount 3 or 4 day winter break and I am so looking forward to the one I have already booked for March this year!

We stayed in room 8 and it was lovely. Very comfy bed. Unfortunately the room felt chilly but I mentioned it to staff and by the time we we t to bed it was better. Missed the log fire in the bar it would have been nice to finish our wine there after dinner. All in all a very nice stay. Staff, food and room lovely and a very nice e pub. Thankyou

This is our second time here, the hotel has been updated a lot since our previous stay and was absolutely lovely as were all the staff. Room was a perfect temperature, bed was comfortable and the food was gorgeous! Not one complaint from me!

Well the Black Horse team have as always delivered a wonderful New Years experience for us. We have been about 4 or 5 times now for the New Years Eve Gala dinner/experience and it just gets better and better every year. Everything about the Black Horse is excellent we really cannot fault it in any way. From the cosy pub atmosphere to the outstanding service we get from all the staff it is just a wonderful experience. Special thanks to Gavin the chef who I understand wasnt too well over the festive break you nailed it the food was what I can only describe as divine. Everything cooked to perfection and hot and considering how many you catered for that is an incredible achievement. Every course was delicious but the best came last with the most amazing desert I've ever had. Not only was the presentation amazing it tasted incredible. Well done again everyone and we are solooking forward to seeing you all again in teh very near future. Note to management please please please do not let Gavin go anywhere he is truly an amazing chef.

The pub area is always lovely and cozy serving excellent ales. This was our 4th stay over past years and definitely will be back again soon. Highly highly recommended.

The staff at the Blackhorse in Grassington was warm, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. You chose your cooked breakfast items and it was top quality that set us up for the day. Highly recommended.

We booked at the last minute and secured the last room at the hotel. The front of house were friendly and helpful and the bar has good beers and wines and comfortable seating. The real fire was a lovely touch. It’s a busy bar but there is good seating. The bedroom was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The tea and coffee was excellent and nice quality biscuits. Overall excellent.

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the black horse hotel and we also ate there of an evening - everything was just superb, food, staff, room - everything. We will be back.

We stayed with our good friends who had never been to the Black Horse before - this was our third stay. We all enjoyed our time immensely although there were problems with the heating in both our rooms.Our friendswere also concerned about the fan in the bathroom of their room - No 8 - which was on all the time the kitchen was working , with kitchen smells coming into the bathroom.They would definitely stay again but perhaps in a different room.Thank you all.

This is our second stay at The Black Horse and most certainly won't be the last... the rooms are spacious and clean and the toiletries are exceptional.There is nothing too much trouble for the staff both in the hotel and waiting on in restaurant and bar.We had a small issue with the central heating which was sorted out promptly by the hotel manager, even offering us her mobile if we experienced any further issues. Needless to say we didn't need to contact her further.The breakfasts are delicious and ample with lots of choice. Highly recommended.We have already booked to stay again next year. Just returned from a trip to Grassington, two nights at The Black Horse eating at the restaurant both evenings. As previously our stay was relaxed and enjoyable, with good food in the restaurant (a minor issue was that an item on the menu ran out, the menu does not change!!!) , all the staff were friendly and welcoming.We ask why is it necessary to preorder breakfast and only get one card to order for your entire stay?

We recently stayed here over night. We found a very hospitable welcome from all that worked, there very professionalthe rooms nice and modern as the same with the rest of the property. very clean and fresh. Not so keen on the pillows and the mattressjust not our style pillows hard the mattress felt like sleeping in a bag of quick sand . The food which was available after a very busy day was beautiful full of flavour and well presentedthe breakfast the next day also of a very high standardthe stay was very enjoyable thank you

Stayed Nov 15th for 2 nights. Excellent value at 50% discount.Bedroom large with comfy bed. Central heating on a timer set by hotel. Sadly strange times used so when we returned to room at 5pm heating was off. Staff can change individual room timings which they did and problem sorted.Wednesday night was very busy in restaurant and this had an effect on quality of food served which was below usual standard but was compensated with freeby pudding.Overall another good experience and the 50% off deal is best in the Dales.

Hi,room was cosy and lovely, although could have had some heating on as we got up for breakfast, was told all controlled digitally so just expected it to be on for an hour early morning but the room was spotlessly clean....evening meal and restaurant staff very good, just a little disappointed couldn't swap the rice for chips on the curry dish, I was treating my sister and offered to buy chips as an extra, she wouldn't let me on principle, she was probably right, but on the whole a nice experience, will definitely stay agsin

A very comfortable and enjoyable couple of nights stay at your well furnished and welcoming hotel.All staff were very friendly and attentive at all times.Would love to return again in the future.It was just a shame that some of the 'local' customers weren't as welcoming on quiz night. It is very short-sighted of some to be rude and abrupt with people who by coming to this beautiful part of the world directly help to ensure that local communities such as Grassington continue to survive and have lovely venues like yours to enjoy.

Great Hotel with fantastic Staff who were very helpful all the time. The food was very good. Clean.I only have one complaint: the entrance to the shower in our room was very narrow only 14.5 inches my husband is a very big man and he was unable to get through that space into the shower. I am not big and I could barely get in the shower. Please do something to resolve this issue not all people are small.Other than this issue everything was excellent.

Spontanious same day 1 night booking, what a wonderful stay, wished we could have stayed longer. Grassington itself is a beautiful place and the Blackhorse hotel offered a comfortably modern room whilst maintaining the character of the building and the surroundings. It started with a warm friendly welcome as we arrived in the bar which continued throughout our stay. We also decided to eat at the restaurant and what an excellent meal,I had the lamb and my husband the pork, both were excellent. I can 100 % recomend both the hotel and Restaurant.

The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive and the rooms were clean and well provided for. Slight niggle - a heated towel rail would have been handy, but apart from that, everything was exceptional, particularly for such a reasonable tariff. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant was superb. The best pie ever! Location was brilliant, just off the village square. Thank you, we hope to see you again.

Great place to just get away on your own, with your dog large or small. Such a welcoming place, and well thought out for doggy people, no out of bound areas made my break so easy. The food was excellent and the bedrooms were lovely, no tired decor which is usually the case when you have your dog & you have to pay extra for the tired room, glad to say not here! Staff were fab, very well chosen. I will be back for sure with my furry friend. Thank you Black Horse you deserve top marks 🏆

Lovely hotel in the centre of Grassington we stayed with out dog who was made very welcome great food choice, good breakfast and lots of drinks to choose from would definitely recommend and stay again parking is available at a nearby council run car park which was not a problem for us.

Four of us had a really super 3 night B&B stay. Food was excellent (thoroughly recommend the brioche pancakes with syrup & fresh berries at breakfast!) as were our evening meals taken at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommmodating. Would thoroughly recommend hotel and the surrounding area.

We stayed for one night, bedroom very clean, had everything you needed, very comfortable. We also ate at the hotel, food was very good, however had wait for over an hour for our meals. Otherwise a lovely stay.

We had a great stay at the Black Horse which is situated in the picturesque small market town of Grassington (home to Darrowby the fictional location for All Creatures Great and Small). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was good. The evening meal and breakfast were excellent and they served six cask beers from local breweries.Overall we were very impressed and We had a great stay. We will be back for some more of the traditional Yorkshire hospitality.

This was a Wedding Anniversary visit to a place we had never visited before and so we were unsure what to expect. Everything about it was enjoyable. The pub was vibrant and welcoming, our room was comfortable as were the facilities generally. The food was excellent and served by attentive staff, friendly and obliging.Cannot recommend it too highly.

We were able to book the hotel at the last minute owing to a cancellation that they had advertised on the Grassington 1940s Weekend Facebook page.Our room was comfortable and the hotel had prepared a lovely personalised 40s Weekend pack with chocolate, sweets, ration card, identity card and postcards; all filled in with our names, room number etc on each item. This was a lovely touch. The usual towels, shampoos, etc were laid out nicely on the bed so fist impressions were excellent.The beds were comfortable and we had a lovely sleep apart from being woken at 6am each morning by the occupants of Room 6 rattling coat hangers and walking around their room squeaking the floorboards.Breakfast was pre-order and really well cooked and presented, again plenty of choice, lovely ingredients and home-cooked toasted bread.Dinner was also really good, again with lots of choice.The beers in the bar included beers from their own and local breweries.All in all, an excellent weekend and really pleased that I found the ad on the Facebook page.

We have been coming to the Black Horse Hotel for years unfortunately this time my husband became ill,nothing to do with the hotel. We were having a wonderful time, but my husband became ill and we knew it would be best to go home.Still think you have a wonderful place and hope we can see you next year.

The Black Horse is situated right in the middle of this beautiful, quaint little village with really olde dwellings, I would say perfect just for one or two nights as you’ve seen pretty much all the offerings of Grassington at that point. The Decor was lovely, tasteful with a homely feel. Cooked breakfast was just delicious with good quality ingredients and so well presented. We stayed for evening meal, again quality ingredients and a chef who takes pride in his food. I really could not fault anything.

All the staff were very courteous and nothing was too much trouble for them, A great team. The meals are very generous portions as well as being excellent quality. The only criticism is that the scrambled eggs for breakfast are over cooked and dry. We stayed last year and they were the same then so no improvement on that unfortunately. Overall though, a great stay 😍.

We’ve had another fantastic stay. Our room was immaculate and serviced daily with tea, coffee etc topped up. Lots of options for breakfast, including plenty of gluten free. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. They recognised us from our honeymoon last year and bought drinks and chocolate to our room as they realised we were back for our anniversary, which was a lovely surprise. Highly recommend a stay at The Black Horse in the beautiful town of Grassington.

Hotel in good location in centre of Grassington with plenty of walks along river and elsewhere. Had no trouble getting a free parking spot in the town but would imagine couldbe difficult at times although the National Trust car park is only a short walk and very reasonably priced.All the staff were very pleasant and food was excellent, both breakfast and restaurant which we used both nights of our stay. Bar and restaurant and outside ‘beer terrace’ all very nice too.Downside were the rooms which unfortunately we found to be very small and fairly basic for the price paidThat said it didn’t spoil what was a vey enjoyable 3 days.

Lovely hotel in a great location in the centre of the village. Staff very friendly, room was very nice and spotlessly clean. Full English breakfast was delicious and we had our evening meal in the restaurant which was also delicious. We shall definitely be returning soon.

This is a good hotel in a great location with brilliant friendly staff. The twin room was quite small but fine for a couple of nights.The only negative comment would be that breakfast only starting at 9am at weekends is too late. Other guests we spoke to agreed. This breakfast means you can only begin your walk or activity at 10am.

Right in the heart of Grassington, this is a really good place to stay. Not only are the staff friendly and helpful, but the rooms are very good too. Comfortable beds with excellent pillows and top notch shower rooms, helped to make our stay memorable. The breakfast is one of the best we have had in an hotel. The cooked produce was all of very high quality and was beautifully prepared.

This was my fourth stay here and my experience of the hotel just keeps getting better. I was unable to book my favourite room and only standard double rooms available at time of booking. Was a bit worried as only had premium rooms before, but I really shouldn't. Lovely cosy room and generously sized bed made for a comfortable stay. Breakfast good as always and everything I had from the seasonal menu was scrumptious. And the staff are - everyone of them - so friendly. I will be back.

Just returned home from a break at the Black Horse, very enjoyable stay.Staff were efficient, food was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, however the arrangements for booking an evening meal could be improved by enabling bar meals to be pre booked, when trying to order a meal we were told the kitchen was busy and we would be contacted when they had time.We were indeed contacted some 30minutes later but only after reminding staff that we were still waiting.From that moment the meals arrived in a timely manner and the quality was excellent.

Rooms were really tastefully decorated with all necessary facilities.Staff throughout stay were warm and friendly.Ate in pub area at night and food was excellent and good value for money.We will definitely return.

A vibrant and welcoming inn on a quiet backstreet of this busy little village, with good food and drink, good range of cask ales, and quality accommodation. Our room was slightly on the small side, but well-equipped with a decent shower. The staff were very helpful, and you certainly enjoyed a good night's sleep. A fair breakfast, although service could take a little while. Would definitely return.

Stayed for a couple of nights over Easter with friends. The staff were very welcoming and the hotel was clean and kept to a good standard. Breakfasts were second to none and we had dinner with them on the second evening which was great. Its s great base to explore the Dales and there's enough in and around Grassingtom itself to fill a day or two on its own.We would definitely recommend. Just had a couple of days away in the quaint village of Grassington. The room appeared to be recently decorated to a very high standard. The staff were helpful and pleasant and the breakfast choice was exceptional. All in all very good value for money. We would not hesitate to book again.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the Black Horse,the 1st being my 60th birthday with a large group of family and friends.As usual you receive a warm and friendly welcome and a lovely decorated room,we had room 4 and it is very tastefully decorated with a lovely king size bed and my son and his fiance had room 2 which was very large.Breakfast was delicious and lots of it.Our evening meal was superior quality with fresh ingredients all home cooked.We all had different starters and main meals and they were all delicious plus we had to make room for the lovely desserts.We had made the mistake of eating in the Hotel across from ours the night before but we wont do that again.Staff at the Black Horse are friendly,welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable.The staff are all great .Dont book anywhere else and eating a meal there is a must

The hotel is situated within walking distance of small shops and pubs in a quaint village. Can’t wait to return again!

We had the pleasure of staying at the Black horse overnight with a nine year old talk Buddy. All aspects of the hotel were very welcoming from booking, checking in dining hotel access during out of hours to allow us to take our dog out as necessary, the comfort of the room is a provision of DuckTales if necessary, made us all feel very welcome. The rooms are very comfortable, the food and service were excellent , all staff were very warm and friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The hotel location is perfect for the village of Grassington itself andis a short walk to the longstay car park near the visitor centre. We will definitely be staying there again

We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was exceptionally clean and well presented. The shower, most powerful and I was always hot water and plenty of towels. Breakfast is great with plenty of choice. Meals in the restaurant were top quality and the choice plentiful. Highly recommended for a lovely relaxing stay with good food and lovely surroundings. Customer service was top drawer.

We visit every year and the the black horse never fails to meet and go above our expectations, from the warm friendly staff the beautiful rooms to the amazing food. The village is the perfect place to unwind and explore where you can do as little or as much as you want. We can’t wait to come back next year.

We have just enjoyed a lovely four night stay at the Black Horse. It was made most pleasurable by the friendly staff. The breakfasts were excellent but we did not like all the noise from banging doors and the boiler striking up at 5.30 each morning and night. The bar was a really friendly place to be, whatever time of day. The room was very comfortable but a pity about the noise.

It felt like a family run hotel as everyone was so attentive and welcoming. We had two, well behaved dachshunds with us who were welcomed with their own doggie bags on arrival. The location, decor, food and cleanliness were all top class. We will be back soon.

Stayed here for two nights as part of their winter offer. Grassington is a lovely little place, oozing with olde world charm and character, with countless walking routes in the area. The hotel is pet friendly and the staff polite and welcoming. Food, drink and a roaring fire were perfect after a day walking in the dales. inadvertently, I left my iPad in my room when I checked out. The hotel rang me a couple of hours later to let me know (before I even realised I’d left it) and posted it out immediately. This is testament to the honesty and professionalism of the staff. Would definitely stay again.

We have stayed here before and I loved it so we chose you again for a few days following our wedding . We had our best friends with us . Everyone is friendly , polite and professional, We made good use of the bar , and ate there as well lovely food well presented served with a smile nothing was too much trouble. Our third stay at the Black Horse and everything was perfect. We were lucky enough to get a good deal but we would have gone regardless. Room 8 was immaculate. It looked like it had recently been updated. Restaurant food and breakfast was very good. All staff were very accommodating and super friendly. They all work very hard. We will definitely be returning at some point in the future.

This was our first visit to The Black Horse & hopefully not the last.We stayed for 2 nights. We ate in the restraunt with friends on the first evening & the food was first class. Breakfast each morning was as you would expect in the Yorkshire Dales, great quality produce served with a smile!We stayed in room 16 on the first evening, however we found the mattress to be too firm for our liking but we were swiftly moved the following morning to room 1 which was perfect. Overall I would say this is a lovely hotel with a really good bar & excellent value for money. We hope to see you soon!

Stayed for 3 nights as a group of couples.Grassington was as excellent centre for planning long walks and having a choice of pubs and restaurants.The Black Horse was an ideal place to stay and we did eat there 2 out of 3 nights.The food was very good and the breakfast excellent.We found the hotel clean and comfortable, decorated to a reasonably high standard. All the staff gave first class service and we would certainly stay again.Thank you for the enjoyable stay and we look forward to our next visit.

Stayed again for nye and can honestly say the food was absolutely amazing. Staff are very friendly and helpful they will do anything for you . The breakfast choice is very good served prompt and hot .The New Year’s Eve evening was well organised with the food outstanding. The sax man was brilliant throughout although I do think adding a disco afterwards would have been better (as the previous year ) so people could have a dance alsobut all in all fabulous x thankyou

Just returned home from a 2 night stay at the Black Horse. From arrival to departure everything was excellent. Room was comfortable, if anything the heating was a little too warm. Breakfast was superb and certainly set us up for the day. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. Entertainment on Sunday evening was great. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and found the found to be of a very high standard. Overall a fantastic dog friendly place to stay for a short break. We will definitely be returning!

Firstly, the food was delicious.Breakfast was lovely and we ate in the restaurant both nights and couldn't fault our meals.The hotel is clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming.The hotel is pet friendly and although we didn't have a dog we didn't find other people's pets to be a problem.They were all well behaved and kept to designated parts of the restaurant.

Lovely little hotel with good food and bar. Staff friendly. Had a great dinner and very filling breakfast, however I’m not sure I agree with letting dogs into the restaurant. Especially with tables so close together.I personally have no problem with dogs, having two myself, but some might and therefore that policy should be highlighted.

The hotel receptionist was very polite on our arrival and explained the layout of the hotel and what the breakfast times were.Our bedroom was warm and clean with the usual amenities.The breakfast was very good.Overall, the hotel staff were very courteous throughout our stay and in an excellent position.

We were only able to stay one night due to other commitments but wish we could have stayed longer. The hotel is perfectly located, the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Our room was lovely, really comfy bed, modern en suite and all immaculately presented.Both evening meal and breakfast were really nice with varied menus and to top it all off, a choice of cask beers and super dog friendly. 10/10faultless. We stayed at the beginning of Nov 22 for 2 nights with our dog. The room was modern, clean and well maintained. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast is pre ordered the evening before. Whilst the portions are not large they were more than adequate and the choice is excellent. The service is faultless. We would recommend.

We were looking forward to our short stay at The Black Horse and were not disappointed. We were given a warm welcome (from Millie) on arrival. Our room 15 (although small due to the nature of the old building) was well equipped and spotless. The bar area was spacious with a welcome roaring fire and a great selection of beers on tap. We ate each evening in the Morral restaurant and enjoyed great food from an extensive menu in beautiful surroundings.Josh & Tobi are to be commended on the tasteful refurbishment of the hotel. Really enjoyed our short break in Grassington. Hotel was very clean with good service. Only complaint was that the room was very hot!! Even when they turned the heating down it didn't make much differance.

A brilliant 3 nights at the Blackhorse hotel the evening meals and breakfast where lovely clean plate every time the rooms spotless and the staff well mannered.DOWNSIDE.The 1st 2 night ladies running the bar no making us rush our drinks and get out of the bar area the last night Saturday the male behind the bar closed early and said its practice when not busy and made us feel uncomfortable as he wanted us out of the bar area so he could get ome to Skipton.Sorry but he is in the wrong job should not be in hospitality we where residents not someone coming in for a few beers at 10pm we would still return but maybe eat and drink elsewhere....

Hotel clean and comfortable.Staff helpful. Dogs no problem at all.Only issue the noise from kitchens at back and not having car park meant walking distance from national car park with bags.

Great welcome and lovely staff. Lovely room, dinner and breakfast were great quality.We did struggle with getting all our luggage and a dog up the stairs due to the fire doors so perhaps some assistance wouldn't go a miss. But other than that can't fault The Black Horse.

We were staying at the hotel for a long weekend and it was brilliant. The staff were very accommodating to us and our dog. The rooms are perfect and very clean. The dinner we had was the star of the show and the bar area is very cozy and has lots of character. We will definitely be coming back.

A comfortable stay in lovely place. The hotel was cosy and well decorated. The restaurant and main bar were very welcoming. This was in the centre of Grassington just off the main square that made you feel like you were in a film set! I would recommend this to anyone wanting good food, comfort, a picturesque setting and a base to explore the surrounding countryside, market towns and waterfalls.

A great weekend, watching the rugby at Wharfedale, staying in the Black Horse. A great pub just off the centre of the village. Great bar, restaurant, excellent food, and great staff. Only issue seems when checking out with the new IT system they have. If you have cancelled rooms etc from the original booking it still shows these on the bill even though you have cancelled them.

Our family of 4 adults stayed for multiple days and were very impressed with the responsiveness of the staff; excellent service. Loved the location, the pub, the clean accommodations, and the dog friendly environment. Although we did not have our dogs with us, we very much appreciated seeing others with their companions. We were pleased to able to park in the village centre close to the hotel.The room was clean and well equipped.All of the staff were helpful and friendly and the food was tasty and of a high quality.Both of us said we would stay at the Black Horse again and recommend it to our friends and family.

September 2022Two adults plus Fox TerrierJust back from a fabulous weekend in Grassington staying at The Blackhorse Hotel.Nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived and we were welcomedby a very cheerful young man.Our bedroom was perfect and attention to detail high. We had a lovely bath with shower over, always a bonus after a long walk.The bed was extremely comfortable too.We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was fabulous. Special mention must go to the Tempura king prawns which were the best we had ever tasted. My hubby had Fish & Chips and I chicken fajitas. Absolutely delicious.The Black Horse is situated in the centre of Grassington and it was lovely to sit on the terrace with a drink people watching.We will definitely return as the walking in the area is absolutely stunning and returning to The Black Horse to relax at the end of the day was perfect.

We recently stayed at The Black Hose Hotel and will most definitely be returning again . We needed a quiet relaxing few days away and that is exactly what we got . The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and furnished the beds are the most comfiest I have ever stayed in ,the shower was also amazing . Staff very very pleasant nothing was to much to ask we dined in the restaurant and can hand on heart say the food was delicious ( hats off to the chef ) the substantial breakfast also set you up for the day . I would go as far to say it has been our best short stay holiday it is a gem of a place , very welcoming and home from homeWithout even venturing out of Grassington itself the cafes and little shops made my day . Will most definitely be going back .

We decided to have a night away from home, booked last minute.From calling up to book a room to leaving and going back home we had amazing service from all the staff!The rooms were spotless, the bar and restaurant were great and the food was amazing!The chef even went above and beyond to cook a chicken breast for our dog!Very welcoming, lovely and relaxing. Will most certainly come back again!!

Situated off the square on main street. Close to all the other facilities and places to eat. Rooms were spotless clean and very comfortable- great shower etc. Given a fan in case too warm. Very comfortable sleep.Great restaurant and excellent breakfast.All the staff were efficient,friendly and helpful.Highly recommended

This was my second visit for a three night stay and I was even more impressed by the care and attention detail lavished on guests second time around. Breakfast continues to be amazing and my food selections from the bar were top notch - special mention to the Leek and Potato soup. This is our third stay at the Black Horse hotel. We stayed in a very comfortable King size room with an excellent bathroom. The breakfast, as previously was excellent as wasthe service. Staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. The location is excellent and although there is no parking it is easy enough to find parking in the village.We will be back!!

Booked for August bank holiday 2 day stay, booked last year after a 1 night stay and was even better than I remembered, food and service is exceptional, rooms are clean and comfortable and nothing is too much trouble. I think the Black Horse is best accommodationin the prettiest market town in the north you could wish for.

I recently stayed at the Black Horse for 3 nights and had an extremely enjoyable stay. All the staff are very friendly helpful and hard working and the food is delicious and plentiful and the portions are enormous . There is lots to chose from on the menu and the breakfasts are very satisfying with plenty of choice and set you up for the day. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable, even having a fan which came in extremely useful during this hot weather. I would gladly recommend the Black Horse to anyone visiting the area. We had a wonderful stay. The Black Horse Hotel staff, from the pub to the restaurant to the front desk, was helpful, competent and friendly. Toni helped us a lot with connecting with a taxi on our day of departure,and Shannon, who helped or served us various times in the restaurant and elsewhere, was so friendly and helpful! You have a wonderful place and if we ever return from the States to Yorkshire, we will definitely stay here again!

We stayed for two nights. Lovely room and the hotel also is very comfortable and clean. The only downside was the room was quite noisy. We were at the back of the hotel above the kitchen area which obviously was busy from early morning.We had dinner the first evening in the hotel. The food was nice but they seemed to have ran out of a few things and our table was at 7.30.The village is a great starting place for lovely walks .

Great location in the the village. Nice and modern inside. Good we could take our dog into the restaurant, as they had a dog friendly area. Nice food and service for dinner, and they presented us with an exceptionally good breakfast which was pre ordered the night before.The only slight issue we had was that when I looked online to book I couldn’t tell which floor certain rooms were on, as our dog is getting older and couldn’t climb up to the second floor. We wanted a room that was also a bit bigger, so I rang ahead to enquire. I was advised the family room would be suitable. When I booked online I gave our names and said we’d be bringing one dog. On arrival the room was set up for 4 people, with the sofa turned into a huge bed, taking up quite a bit of space. I had visions of the dog getting up and messing up the lovely white linen so I asked if the bed could be taken down as we didn’t need it. They did come straight up and fold the bed away but unfortunately the whole time we were there we couldn’t sit on the sofa bed as all the linen, duvet, pillows and towels were just left piled up on it. It would’ve been helpful if they had been removed so we could’ve used that space. We and our dog had a lovely warm welcome. Staff were very helpful and friendly and we’d love to stay again. Great value for money.

We stayed here for 2 nights and found the staff very welcoming, the room clean and the beds very comfortable.Breakfast was lovely and all in all it is a great place to stay and we will be back another time.

Having stayed at the Black Horse on 6 previous occasions we were not disappointed.Hotel was spotless and rooms immaculate.Meals were excellent,including breakfast,however we were disappointed at the late and short time for breakfast (9-10),it felt like all guests were down for breakfast at the same time (9 o clock) and consequently was very busy ,which led to less efficiency.

We were two fiends sharing a 'Skylight Twin' on first floor. A beautifully appointed room with lots of attention to detail and comfortable beds. A slight issue with rain having entered the skylight was quickly dealt with be friendly and efficient staff. Location is central and convenient with nearby parking available. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of choice. Two wishes - provision of a larger selection of herbal / fruit teas (including options for the bedroom) and inclusion of granary toast at breakfast.

Lovely hotel in a great location,staff friendly & helpful rooms spotless with everything you need couldn't fault it & would highly recommend.Only downside is the parking in the village we were lucky & managed to park in one of the few spaces in the centre otherwise it's a walk to the top of the village but once parked it's a lovely place to visit.

The bedroom we had was immaculate and airy on the second floor.Very nicely furnished with tea and coffee supplied.

A beautiful hotel right in the centre of Grassington . Greeted by Anjou who was super efficient and very polite. The room was lovely with a view over the village square. Clean , pretty , great bed and hospitality tray was great . Lovely bathroom too .We found one of the bar staff very rude .Sort from that we d definitely stay again . Breakfast was cooked to perfection and the dining room staff were fantastic. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel

Clean and comfortable room with a great view in the heart of Grassington. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We went out of season so very quiet which was the only downside atmosphere wise in the bar and restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Black Horse. The bar and restaurant have a great atmosphere and the food was lovely. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were of a good standard, with some nice little touches. The only negative was the breakfast. Never a fan of pre-ordering the night before. Just needed a few tweaks, would benefit from better quality produce, mainly the sausage, fruit salad and bread. Service was particularly slow on the second morning.Even though we were slightly disappointed with breakfast, we would definitely stay again.

Very nice hotel. Great staff. My skate wing special was outstanding. Clean. Excellent breakfast. Highly recommend. Parking is not really available unless you get really lucky. But the national park is an easy 5 minute walk to their parking. 15 pounds for a week but that gets you parking in any national park. The aysgarth falls and malham cove are all local and well worth a visit

Stayed at this extremely Dog friendly Pub in beautiful Grassington.Room was very comfortable and clean. Just a recommendation it could do with a net curtain up for natural light as the window looks directly into a window opposite. Loved the restaurant had a special section to be able to dine with our dog . Food here is lovely, best in the Village in our opinion. The staff here are brilliant, they are really friendly and work SO hard.The little terrace at the front is great for evening drinks in the sunshine.Lots of lovely little Cafes and shops in the Village , close to lots of walks. Really love the Dales , hopefully be back soon

We stayed at The Black Horse as part of a surprise weekend. The hotel is a tradis!!! It looks small but once inside it opens into a lovely bar area, modern spacious dinning room and two floors of bedrooms. I booked two twin rooms and although small, they were beautifully clean, lovely decor and had everything we needed. We are in the hotel on our first night and the food was good, maybe a little over priced (in my opinion). The staff were all lovely, friendly and really obliging. Would I stay again, yes definitely. It’s a lovely little hotel in a lovely little village.

We had a fantastic time at The Black Horse booked in for 2 nights but on our arrival decided to stay an extra night the lovely lady on reception found another room but later informed us she’d been able to move someone around so we could stay in our room for the full 3 nights. The room was lovely clean very comfortable bed and the service was great breakfast was like clockwork very polite staff and the food was fantastic definitely worth a visit

My second stay here while visiting friends , the hotel was 2 minutes walk from the square & shops, it’s very clean & had lovely decor & furnishings, my room was the twin skylight room which was lovely- I could see the sky & stars as I drifted off to sleep, The staff were lovely- friendly, very helpful & I would definitely come back to stay here - 5* for the breakfast it was perfect!& you don’t feel rushed. I would have loved to have stayed longer but Jubilee weekend meant it was booked up.I will be booking The Black horse hotelnext year & by the way your dogs can stay with you too - a winner all round

A very enjoyable overnight stay. Staff were very good and friendly. The place was very clean and tidy and well cared for.One small comment, the doorlock if you are late in and the place is closed. the lock is in a dark place on the door and the numbers on the lock are not very visible, the automatic light didn't stay on long enough to see the lock properly and the foliage surrounding the door also cast shadows adding to the difficulty.

We booked for a short break - Friday to Sunday. We have nothing but praise for the staff at the hotel. They made our stay feel like we had been coming for years. So very warm and friendly. The food was amazing and the bar was well stocked with cask ales and many gins. Set in the heart of Grassington it was perfectly placed to enjoy the village and the surrounding countryside. We will definitely return.

Very nice hotel set in a beautiful village in the Dales. We had to cancel from February die to the storms and the hotel were very accommodating and allowed us to rearrange. Great breakfast, nice vegetarian options. Would go again.

Lovely rooms and excellent position for all amenities. The breakfast was very nice too and good system in place to avoid wastage.

Rooms pics attached are not indicative of what we had. Food was delicious, receptionist/waitress runs restaurant with military precision which though efficient is overpowering. Bed really comfortable but room let down by old pine furniture and tiny tv which we had to retune to watch- would’ve expected a smart tV . Overall pleasant stay.

The hotel was perfectly situated for walking in the Dales. We were met by friendly staff (Helen in particular) who were attentive to our every need. We ate at the hotel on the two nights we stayed, the food was good & again the service was excellent. Rooms were individual, quirky & spotlessly clean. We will definitely return!

The Black Horse occupies an ideal location in the centre of Grassington. Rooms have been recently refurbished, the bar has great ambience with a good selection of real ales and gins and the restaurant offers good food with a varied menu. However, it’s best feature are the staff who are courteous, friendly and welcoming. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon ( with our dog).

We stayed for 2 nights. This was our 3rd stay at the Black Horseand as always the staff go above and beyond. Always welcoming,helful and very friendly. The room refurbs are superb, as were themeals. The new menu, wow, spoilt for choice plus a big shout out tothe chef! Grassington itself is a really lovely village as is thesurrounding area. Top marks!

Everything about the black horse was spot on. Room food and the staff. We stayed for 2 nights and both our evening meals was first class. The only let down was the weather. But that’s Yorkshire for you. We would recommend this little gem to everyone. We will certainly be back soon. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

We traveled as 2 couples and we have stayed many times at the Black Horse. We were greeted by a lovely friendly welcome. Our rooms were lovely and clean and have been updated since our last stay to a great standard. The beds were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and a great variety. Dog friendly too which makes the Black Horse the most perfect stay. We can’t wait to visit Grassington again soon. Well doneteam x

Stayed for 2 nights, mid week, at this lovely hotel, with charming, friendly staff, comfortable room, delicious local food, informal local music group entertainment on Wednesday and quiz on Thursday (evenings). We have just returned from two nights here, it was excellent, the rooms were spotless with toiletries, staff were very friendly and breakfast was great. Really good value, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again or recommend it.

This is the 3rd time we've Stayed at the Black horse a good atmosphere, however avoid room 1,the shower is no good and looking at previous reviews this problem has been mentioned before so the staff are aware of the problem but give the same reply we got "I'll let the maintenance man know ",they must be aware of the problem? Otherwise decent stay.

We love this place, our 3rd time great room quite and cosy great shower and bath enjoyed every bit of our stay thank you again and we’ll see you soon.

We have recently completed a two night stay at the Black Horse Hotel and found this to be a very pleasant experience. After all the recent issues with covid, the service and friendliness of the staff was excellent. There were plenty of staff to provide a great level of service. The food, particularly, the breakfast was first class, comprising of local produce, cooked to an exacting standard. The 2 for 1 deal is truly amazing value for money. Even without the deal, we will be returning to the Black Horse. This is our third visit in the last 15 months and we recommend this hotel for any stay in the area.

What a wonderful place to stay in wonderful Wharfedale. A great place to relax with a friendly bar and great food in the restaurant. We are already planning our next visit.

Had a really nice stay at The Black Horse for 2 nights. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker and towelling dressing gown.The atmosphere in the bar with the log fire burning was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and jovial. The food in the restaurant was good. Would have been good to have a few more vegetarian options and include a wider range of traditional desserts.Overall we had a wonderful time and will definitely return again.

Lovely stay, bedroom a little tight with no drawers but great none the less. ( room 3). Room 12 where my daughters slept had really bad condensation with water running from window to window seat and down wall. Shower was really ineffective strength wise and runs too hot/too cold but otherwise ok.Good value all things considered.

We had a lovely overnight stay in the Black Horse. We chose the hotel because we wanted to see where the new series of All Creatures Great and Small was filmed and Grassington is a lovely village. Lorna in the restaurant was a stand out member of staff, she was so pleasant and professional despite being incredibly busy. We would definitely return.

Spent two nights here in a twin room with my nephew as we attended a local bladesmithing course at Ember Ironworks. The Black Horse Hotel was stunning! Homely with an up to date vibe. Beautiful food and wonderful rooms. All employees were friendly and happy to help. We took advantage of the midweek deal, which I'm glad we did so we could stay longer. The area is very popular with walkers and a fantastic village full of character. I'd be more than happy to stay at the Black Horse Hotel in the future

Had another amazing weekend at the Black Horse stayed many times ,our favourite place . Room are spotless food in restaurant is outstanding .We went as a party of six for my husbands 60th birthday he was looked after really well . We also had three dogs in our group and they where made really welcome as well . Can’t wait for the next time

The Black Horse has an elevated position with a lovely sun terrace welcoming to the front of the hotel. The interior it spotless and the decor is stylish,cozy but retains charm through age of the property. Food is of good quality, well presented and delicious. The bar and dining area are spacious and really comfortable with a log fire. The staff can't help you enough and the service from the was very good , friendly but professional. Our twin en suite bedroom was comfortable clean and well spaced out, everything we needed. Perfect stay Thank you all at the Black Horse Grassington

Stayed two nights with cocker spaniel. Large room (no 8) with very comfy bed and pleasant decor.Very dog friendly and one of the few places that do not charge for the dog.Excellent cask ales.Evening meal prices rather expensive for basic choices.Despite struggling with staffing levels all staff were pleasant and hard working during still difficult times.

A return visit. Friendly, welcoming well trained staff and plentiful good food in the restaurant both evenings and also for breakfast. A nice selection of ales and lagers at the well stocked bar with a roaring fire in the wood burner. The room was spotless and comfortable with bath robes and slippers provided plus a good choice of teas & coffees.A minor niggle was the lack of sockets by the bed. An extension cable from below the window ran under the bed to provide wireless charging facilitiesbut not everyone has that capability.We will be back again in the not too distant future. Stayed with our cockapoo on a 2 for one mid-week deal. There's much to like about the hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff were very helpful even to the extent of going to the kitchen to make hot chocolate after the machine had been cleaned one evening. Food was all good especially liked the homemade soup. We managed to park in the square but be prepared at busy times to use parking further afield so download the Pdf.

The Black Horse inn is an extremely cosy pub in which to stay. Standards of cleanliness are very high so too is the quality of food on offer.Bedrooms are comfortable and clean though there were some issues with the temperature controls at times.Staff are friendly and very helpful and efficient. Prices are very reasonable for such a comfortable stay.Central location in town.No car parking on site so be prepared to unload and then search for a parking spot.Thank you for a very pleasant visit.

Just returned from a fantastic 2 night stay at the Black Horse hotel. The room was great, bed was comfortable and room had everything you need. The breakfast was great and definitely set me up for a day of walking. Great that it is dig friendly too. The staff were all really welcoming and friendly. Just what we wanted, quality and peace and quiet, good food and drink and was not disapointed, yes a dog friendly pub and plenty staying their with their owners but all well behaved, wife said would be a good idea to have a notice telling owners to have dogs on a lead inside hotel, as corridors quite narrow, and nearly got bundled over twice, that was the only minor blip.Nice cosy bedroom slept like a log, nice clean modern bathroom with a great shower, the food fantastic - the breakfast all food coked to perfection, (poached eggs nice and runny in centre bacon well cooked but soft) and the mains in the evening I had the Fish and the wife a burger and not for getting the Rhubarb crumble home madewas all fantastic. Nice pleasentand friendly staff (can't stand staff who don't want to talk to you) We will be coming again.

Last minute request for x 2 rooms Friday 28th the front of house Lady (forgive me) was absolutely brilliant , organised dinner the same evening in the Hotel restaurant despite having full booking schedule. Enjoyed several hours in the bar after a walk in the afternoon and then dinner in the evening.In summary - Great Staff , Lovely bar area , home cooked food , outstanding value for money. Will be back.

Recently returned from a 2night midweek break after a November 2020 postponement due to lockdown restrictions. We were very grateful for our deposit to be transfered to enable us to make this trip. Great welcome as usual from all the staff. Room 10 was great too.breakfast choice great too.this was our 4th visit over the years and we hope to revisit in the future. Fantastic location, just off the main square with a warm and friendly atmosphere.Our room (1) was a twin which provided a good nights sleep, complimentary toiletries and tea and coffee facilities.The breakfast was well organised, with a good selection that was cooked to order so, very fresh and tasty.We would stay here again and have no hesitation In making a recommendation, please be aware that all rooms need you to use stairs so possible not great if you have mobility issues, also it’s a dog friendly hotel which is great.. ours will be going next time!

We stayed on the 2 for 1 deal and it was good value for money. The restraint was serving evening meals on the nights we stayed but that was not an issue as there was plenty of other options in Grassington. We really enjoyed our stay the hotel was forest as was the location

Super two day break with friends and our two dogs. The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff friendly and helpful and food very good quality. We all commented on how good breakfast was. Will definitely be back and will recommend to others.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, helpful and delightful. The interior and the rooms were attractive. A shelf in the shower would be appreciated and there was a slight problem with heating, which was rectified. We would stay there again.

My wife and I spent the break between Christmas and New Year at The Black Horse. The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable. There was a lot of choices for breakfast, it would be a fussy eater that left the dinning room hungry. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening, again there was a lot of choices on the menu. The food was excellent. The staff were welcoming, friendly and hard working. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a very pleasant stay, enjoyed the New Year's Eve gala, with the staff working extremely hard. Room was very comfortable - only criticism would be to have a heated towel rail in the bathroom or somewhere to dry the towels.

We decided to have a change for New Year and booked the 2 day New Yearpackage at The Black Horse as a treat. We weren’t disappointed the team made sure our stay was special. Stayed here for a much needed break and it really was the tonic we needed.From entering at the reception to leaving the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them.The hotel was decorated for Christmas and with the open fire it was warm and comforting.The room was spotlessly clean and had everything you needed.Plus the food was fantastic.What more could anyone want.I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return.If you want a base in the middle of a quaint Yorkshire Village with walks from the doorstep look no further than The Black Horse.Thank you to all the staff that made our stay a memorable one.

We have stayed at the Black Horse numerous times and absolutely love going.Back in June they were struggling for staff and service was not what we had known, but the new General Manager is fab, very friendly and helpful.The whole team were on the ball and service was perfect.The room was beautiful and the shower amazing!To top it off the Christmas decorations and open fire were just what we needed after a walk.So relaxing and cosy.We will be back again very soon.

This was our fourth stay at the Black Horse we always enjoy our stay the staff are lovely and helpful, the bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and there’s a lovely bar and restaurant.We were disappointed this year because the Dickensian Christmas market was cancelled because of the storms but we managed to to stay comfy and cozy at the Black Horse.

We had just one night at the Black Horse and it was lovely..friendly, helpful staff and a cozy feel to the rooms. We really enjoyed our evening meal - sometimes hotel food can be second rate but this was top class..highly recommend the coq au vin!We had hoped to get snowed in and have our stay extended but unfortunately it didn’t happen..maybe next time!

Great place to stay, hotel in the heart of a lovely village. Modern decor, our room was lovely, beds comfy. The staff were very friendly and welcoming especially with our black Labrador Dexter who loved all the attention.Ate in the restaurant which was home cooked food and very tasty, breakfast was delicious and a good choice, we had to the fill in a form for the breakfast choice upon arriving which was absolutely fine by us.We will definitely be going back in the near future and would highly recommend The Black Horse.
